goals

The students get an insight into current research topics and independently elaborate literature of a specific field. They are able to understand their texts as well as to create summaries of complex topics. Moreover, they can present scientific results.

content

We provide a selection of current work in the field of usable security and privacy. Some key aspects are, amongst others, the security of authentication protocols as well as digital oblivion, both from a technical and user perspective. Students should elaborate on the topic using the provided work and create a seminar work. In the end, each student gives a presentation about their work.

Die Se­min­ar­the­men des Lehr­stuhls wer­den über die Web­sei­te der zen­tra­len Se­mi­nar­ver­ga­be (https://svhgi.nds.rub.de) ver­ge­ben. Dort be­fin­den sich eben­falls wei­te­re In­for­ma­tio­nen zur Be­die­nung und zum Aus­wahl­ver­fah­ren. Der An­mel­de­zeit­raum wird über die RUB-Mai­ling­lis­te its-an­noun­ce be­kannt ge­ge­ben. Die Nut­zung der zen­tra­len Se­mi­nar­ver­ga­be ist Vor­aus­set­zung für die Ver­ga­be eines The­mas sowie für die er­folg­rei­che Teil­nah­me am Se­mi­nar.

Das Se­mi­nar "Human Cen­te­red Se­cu­ri­ty and Pri­va­cy" wird als Blo­ck­ver­an­stal­tung gegen Ende des Se­mes­ters - nach be­son­de­rer An­kün­di­gung - durch­ge­führt. In der Vor­be­spre­chung wer­den ge­naue­re In­for­ma­tio­nen zu Ter­mi­nen und In­hal­ten ge­ge­ben. Im Rah­men die­ses Vor­tref­fens wer­den die ein­zel­nen The­men ge­nau­er vor­ge­stellt sowie For­ma­li­tä­ten ab­ge­klärt.
